In an insightful event held at Schwedenhaus, the Austrian and Swedish Games Industry presented “Old World, New Games – Creativity and Innovation in Games Development”. In collaboration with the Swedish Embassy in Vienna, this gathering brought together experts from both countries to foster a cross-cultural dialogue on current topics in the games industry. The event’s central theme revolved around exploring the dynamics of creativity and innovation in the gaming industry from both a Swedish and Austrian perspective. It served as a unique platform for sharing insights, discussing challenges, and identifying opportunities for collaboration between the two countries in game development.

Annika Markovic, Ambassador of Sweden to Austria and Jenny Huldschiner, Chair of the Swedish Games Industry and COO at Embark Studios opened the event with some inspiring words followed by an introduction from Martin Filipp, Chair of the PGDA and COO at Mi´pu´mi Games. Next up a thought-provoking panel discussion moderated by Robert Glashüttner, video game journalist and senior editor at ORF Radio FM4, featured an assortment of industry-related figures from both Sweden and Austria who shared their insights into the overlaps and current developments of the games industry in both countries.
