Coral Cove wins PGDA Talent Award

Coral Cove, developed by students of FH Salzburg, has been selected as winner of the first Austrian Talent Award. The award ceremony took place at Level Up in Salzburg on July 2nd 2023.

The PGDA Talent Award recognizes and celebrates debuting teams for their skills and creativity in game development, highlighting their potential for future success. By introducing the Talent Award, PGDA spotlights the exceptional educational work schools and universities provide to students across Austria. Out of 12 submissions from teams all over Austria, 3 games were shortlisted, out of which Coral Cove emerged as winner.

In Coral Cove, you embark on a mission to restore the damaged underwater ecosystems. Through a relaxing match 3-like gameplay, merge corals to create a vibrant reef. Explore the seafloor, complete quests, and unlock special structures to aid your progress. Be mindful of the dangers and manage your limited coral resources strategically. With short rounds, challenging obstacles, and endless strategic possibilities, Coral Cove offers engaging replayability.

As part of their well-deserved win, the Coral Cove team will receive a booth at Gamescom in Cologne, along with a valuable mentorship program. This achievement not only brings recognition but also opens doors to new opportunities and industry connections for the FH Salzburg students.

The PGDA extends its thanks to the international jury for their expertise and dedication in evaluating the submissions. Additionally, appreciation is given to all the teams that submitted their games, showcasing their creativity and passion for game development.
