Game Developer and Game Dev Graz Vice President Phil Gosch passed away
We are saddened to share news of the unexpected passing of Philipp Gosch, freelance game developer & technical artist and Vice President of Game Dev Graz.
Phil Gosch was a significant and important part of the Austrian games industry. As a founding member of Game Dev Graz, he helped build the local game development community by bringing people together and organizing numerous events such as the Game Dev Days and game jams.
He was a technical artist and software engineer, who also worked for ReactiveReality as a rendering engineer and shared his expertise as an integral part of the Blender community while also working as a freelancer contributing to many projects of local game studios and companies, such as CodeFlügel and Rarebyte.
Those who were lucky enough to meet him were immediately taken by his friendly, helpful, and relaxed personality, as well as his fine sense of humour.
